Community organizer, vegan chef, and owner of Kula Foods, her journey began in Kenya, where sharing food with the community was an important part of every day. After her move to Vancouver in 2015, she was inspired to create something reflective of her experiences, and Kula Kitchen was born! She aims to use her unique platform to connect people to their food and community.
Chris Boreland (AKA Vancouvers Favourite Auntie), is owner of Elbo Jamaican patties, a community-based food and beverage company in Vancouver, BC, providing our community with nourishment and knowledge. Elbo's mission is to bridge the gap between the queer Caribbean experience, and challenge the narrative that is often told of Caribbean people, creating safe spaces and bringing communities together through food and story telling. Elbo in its name is a definition of community and in that name we strive to continue to bring communities together through food
